It has been an enriching experience to be a part of the International Nurses Day Celebration on May 15th, 2023, been organised by The Trained Nurses Association of India . TNAI has a rich legacy of supporting & safeguarding nurses for more than 10 decades and currently having around 4.5 lakh+ nurses registered with them. The theme was pretty significant “Our Nurses Our Future”

Several distinguished Guests and Think tanks from Nursing Associations, Industry and Govt were graced the occasion. Few benevolent speakers were Dr Sandeep Singh Kaura , Dr Vinod K Paul- NITI Aayog, Dr. T Dileep Kumar- Indian Nursing Council, Dr. Deepika C Khakha- Nursing Advisor GOI, Dr. Roy K George- TNAI, Evelyn P Kannan- TNAI who shared their thoughts and vision for making nursing as aspirational career.

Dr Sandeep Singh Kaura :-  Healthcare Program is very close to his heart. During Covid their was shortage of technician to operate the ventilators.  During that time, Dr Kaura  is advisor to Chief minister. He had brief discussion with Dr D K Singh who was Director for AIIMS Punjab.

At that they both decided that to train nurses as the technician who can ventilators. So Dr Kaura brought a new age program that is called Respiratory Trappiest, which was First of it kind in India. They trained about 100 nurses at AIIMS. Which were deployed in civil hospitals.

Nurse played very important role. Since then they work on various incentive that how we can train the healthcare work force. The demand for nurse are increasing form foreign countries.

There is demand for Indian Nurses and  at same time we facing shortage in our own country. The Data says that the most of students are aspiring to go to abroad.

To make India a skill capital of the world, we have to train our young work force. The most important of the aspect demographic dividend and foreign countries facing the aged population. IT is the right time to build the ecosystem around it to make our own requirement and at the same time we can the support the globe skill shortage. 

So ecosystem like TNAI he got opportunity be with all the members and request let us create a ecosystem and do the mapping to understand the young force aspiration.

Dr Kaura also requested Dr. T Dillip Kumar that INC can be part of system.  IT will help us to make nursing as an aspirational career.
